Branding Yourself Using Twitter

Twitter can be used as a powerful tool to brand yourself online on a global scale. Most people are trying to use Twitter to market products and services, throwing in affiliate links.

If you have studied what top internet marketers do... you will have noticed that they brand themselves, create a relationship and offer value to people first. People buy from people that they know and trust.

Your chances of making a sale on a product that you recommend to some increases exponentially if they already know you.

Use Twitter to brand yourself, provide value and create a lasting relationship. Your Twitter profile acts as your first point of contact with people. Use it to market yourself.

Branding Yourself On Your Twitter Profile:

Join Twitter, If you have not done so already...

Go to the settings section on Twitter...

1. Use your name in the Name:

2. Use your name as your Twitter URL in the Username:

I use my name: Mujibur Rahman.

If your name is already taken by someone else, try and tweak it a bit...

Mujibur_Rahman or TheMujiburRahman TheRealMujiburRahman MeetMujiburRahman... get creative and you will come up with a relevant profile URL.

3. Provide a link to your website in the More Info URL:

This is provide your followers the opportunity to visit your website and find out what you do... (The value you can provide).

4. In the One Line Bio: Write a brief bio (160 chars)... Let people know how you can help them. This is should get them to click on the link to your website.

You can change this with different FREE offers on valuable information that you can provide them with.

People want to know what you can do for them. (The value you can provide).

I have included my website in the bio.. so that it shows up in the description on some of the Twitter tools used by people.

5. Fill in your Location: use your city,country

6. DON'T check the protect my updates.

You want as many people as possible to see your update.

7. Upload your picture to your profile. (Picture Section) You are branding yourself!

Use a good sensible picture... Don't use a picture with you holding a fan of money in your hands or a stack of money as your image. People are getting out of the donkey mentality of following the carrot!

Your Twitter Background

Your Twitter background is really important in branding YOU. It can make you stand out, act as your online business card.

You can change your background from the Design Section in Twitter settings. First you need to create a background that will act as your online business card. Once you have designed it, you can upload it by clicking on the Design Section.. Change background image » locate the image on your harddrive and then click on save changes.

if you are using photoshop

"free twitter background template psd" or "twitter background template psd"

Once you have downloaded the template make the changes that will market YOU.

Include your picture, your short bio, your website...
