Top 10 Blogs of 2009

The following is a list of the Top 10 blogs as published in Time Magazine. These are the top 10 from their list of Top 25 blogs of 2009.

1. Talking Points Memo – Launched by Journalist Josh Marshall in November 2000. It’s a news blog that attracts thousands of visitors daily. This blog has a google page rank of 8.

2. The Huffington Post - Started off as a political blog co-founded by Arianna Huffington in 2005.  It is now a full blow news blog with a google page rank of 8.

3. Lifehacker -  Started off in 2005 as a blog dedicated to tips and advice on how-to get things done. It’s now a blog that has diversified in various areas. Lifehacker has a google page rank of 7.

4. Metafilter – Is a community blog that revolves around various topics daily. The community members discuss the daily topics, some of the topics are useless but amusing. Metafilter has a google page rank of 7.

5. The Daily Dish by Andrew Sullivan – In this blog Andrew Sullivan discusses news items and expresses his opinion and ridicules them. This blog has a google page rank of 8.

6. Freakonomics - This is part of the New York Times blogs in which journalist Stephen Dubner and economics professor Steven Levitt share their views on various topics. It has a google page rank of 7.

7. BoingBoing - What a name for a blog! This blog highlights strange and wonderful things for general discussion. BoingBoing has a google page rank of 8.

8. Got2BeGreen - Discover The Future of Green! This blog  publishes articles on things that are eco-friendly and also items that save you money. This blog has a google page rank of 3.

9. Zen Habits -  Zen Habits is about finding simplicity in the daily chaos of our lives. It’s about clearing the clutter so we can focus on what’s important, create something amazing, find happiness. The Zen Habits blog has a google page rank of 6.

10. The Conscience of A Liberal by Paul Krugman – This is also another New York Times blogs, blogged by Paul Krugman a  Princeton economics professor and New York Times columnist. He also won a 2008 Nobel for his work on international trade theory. This blog is mainly centered around economics and has a google page rank of 8.
